Frequently asked questions
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online in under a minute via our booking page, or by calling your local studio directly. Choose your location, service, and time — we'll confirm instantly.
What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule scheduled services. When we contact you, a credit card will be required to reserve your appointment. If you do not feel comfortable giving our your credit card over the phone you have and option to schedule your appointment online or a walk-in (not always guaranteed, depending on the number of scheduled appointments). Failure to cancel scheduled services at least 24 hours in advance will result in a $25.00 per person of the scheduled service fee which will be processed on the credit card retained on file for the reservation.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Arrive 10 minutes early. Your therapist will go through a quick intake — pain points, pressure preferences, goals — and then guide you to a private room to settle in. The session begins as soon as you're ready.
Must I be completely undressed?
You should undress to your desired level of comfort. Most of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the other half prefers to keep their undergarments on. This is completely up to you. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room and will be securely covered or draped by a blanket and a sheet throughout your massage session.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We strongly recommend booking ahead, but we'll always do our best to accommodate walk-ins based on therapist availability.
Are gift cards available?
Yes — gift cards are available for any service or dollar amount and can be used at any of our three locations. Ask in studio or contact us to purchase.
Do you offer prenatal massage in every trimester?
Yes, our therapists are trained in prenatal massage and can adapt for any trimester. We do not perform deep tissue on expectant clients.
Can I request a specific therapist?
Absolutely. When booking online, you can select your preferred therapist if they're available.
How do I book a massage with a voucher or gift certificate?
Simply go to the Book Now page and select a service, then select a therapist or click "any available staff." Next, search through the available dates to find a day and time that works for you. Select the one you prefer. If you are new to us, you will have to create an account on the following page by entering your personal information. You will then be asked to confirm the selections and asked to enter appointment notes. If you have a voucher or gift certificate, or if you have information that needs to be available to us before the massage, please leave it in the "appointment notes"Â field.
Why is the price different on the website?
The website shows clients the list price for the massage service they are paying for. Your Groupon voucher is listed on the Groupon website at the promotional price, and the voucher is redeemable for the service listed on the website. We change the pricing in the system when you arrive for your scheduled appointment. All Groupon clients owe at the end of a massage is the sales tax, which Groupon makes us collect.
How do I know what type of appointment to select?
This depends on what you are looking for! Groupon clients will book according to which offer they purchased. A Groupon 3-pack should be selected for those who purchased a 3-pack, for example, and clients with existing packages just need to select whether they would like a firm/deep massage or a relaxation massage. Pregnant clients can book online under "Pregnancy Swedish."Â
What do I do if I cannot find a day or time that works for me?
The software searches for available appointments based on the duration of the massage and the type of service, and it is highly accurate. If you cannot find anything that works for you, we likely do not have it. If you leave a voicemail and send an email with the request to be placed on our waitlist, we do occasionally have cancelations. Simply state your first and last name, your email address, and your phone number, plus the days and times that work best for you, and we can add you to the waitlist.
I already paid for my massage. Why do I need to enter my credit card?
Credit cards are used to hold appointments both online and over the phone. The policy protects our therapists from clients whom no show or cancel last minute, for which the fee is a flat $25 per person. The card on file is never charged otherwise and other forms of payment may be used to pay for your service. You must have a valid card to book a massage.
I have packages. Can I use 1 for a family member?
Packages are set up in the system to be assigned to one person and one person only. Entire packages can be transferred between clients, but clients may not share a package with another client. If you would like to purchase a service for a friend or relative, you may purchase as many gift certificates as you like to send to them. If you would like to transfer packages to someone, you must call or email the office and give their first and last name, email address, and phone number so that we can create an account for them to track the transfer of services.
Will the therapist be present when I undress?
The massage therapist will leave the room while you undress, relax onto the table under the first sheet and cover yourself with a clean sheet and blanket. The therapist will knock before re-entering
What is included in the session time?
A session consists of massage, time for you to dress and undress and time to communicate with the therapist to make your massage truly customized. Each time you visit at Touch Therapy Massage you will have a short consultation to let the massage therapist know of any areas to focus on or if there are any changes from last session. This is done to ensure each and every massage session you receive from us meets or exceeds your expectations.
How much should I tip?
Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. We recommend you think of your massage therapist as you would a waiter in a restaurant. Our therapists at Touch Therapy Massage love what they do and your tip may reflect your appreciation for their service. We recommend tipping percentages be based on the full price of a regular massage, rather than the discounted price.
How often should I receive a massage?
For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage inadvisable?
Yes. It is very important that you inform your massage therapist of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care for any condition, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage prior to any session, including for prenatal massage patients.  Please let the person scheduling your session know if you are pregnant or any other condition you may have when you call to properly put you with the correct massage therapist to help with your needs.
I purchased gift certificates or a package/series. Is there a time limit to use them?
There is no time limit for either product! Gift certificates maintain a consistent cash value, but certificates purchased before January 2019 may no longer reflect the full value of a service. Although we no longer offer them, an existing package deal fluctuates in value to match the current service price. Both products are non-refundable but can be transferred to another individual.
